Continuity of Learning Plan

Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) is committed to ensuring all students receive quality instruction each day. This includes times when students are required to stay home following COVID-19 quarantine protocols, such as for an exposure, or COVID-19 isolation protocol for a positive diagnosis. Teachers and staff are charged with providing current and relevant instructional plans for students to access virtually while students are required to be out for COVID-19 protocols. Staff will also be available to assist or answer questions at assigned times.

When students are placed in quarantine or isolation due to COVID:

  • Administration will maintain a school-wide database of students currently in quarantine or isolation
  • The homeroom teacher is the case manager for individual students. The teacher will email the student and parent each day, including:
    • Assignments for Reading, Math, Content
    • An invitation for parents to request a live tutoring session, if desired
    • If requested, teachers will conduct the live tutoring session
    • Emailing of assignments is being used instead of LMS posting
      • Email is more personal and opens a new line of communication each day, allowing for the parent to ask questions and request a tutoring session
      • Daily emails serve as documentation of continuity of learning outreach
